Pre + Post Session Information

Pre-Treatment Instructions – All Facials

  • Stop the application of all retinoids, or Vitamin A derivative products. 7-10 days


  • Cease use of all Glycolic or chemical exfoliants. 4-5 days


  • High percentage of AHA & BHA products should be stopped. (5 days)

  • Cease use of all physical exfoliants, such as scrubs. 3-5 days


  • Avoid facial waxing and chemical hair removal on area you are treating. (7 days)


  • Avoid sun exposure without a sunscreen of SPF 30 or greater.

  • Avoid tanning beds.  (2 weeks)

Facials: Pre Treatment

After Care Instructions – All Facials

Facials: After Care

  • Keep your skin well hydrated with a protective moisturizer.

  • Avoid heat or sweating for 3-5 days

  • Avoid direct sunlight on the treated area and use a broad-spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen of SPF 30 or greater for 1-2 weeks after your treatment.                                                            

  • Avoid using abrasive products such as scrubs or exfoliating sponges for 3 -5 days.

  • Avoid products such as retinols and glycolic acid for 5 days.

  • Vitamin C Serums may be resumed after 48 hours

  • Eat at least 1.5 hours before the treatment

  • Rinse your mouth with water before the treatment

  • DO NOT floss right before the treatment (unless absolutely necessary)

  • After Care Instructions- teeth whitening

  • Avoid cold drinks/ foods as it can trigger sensitivity

  • Avoid all staining products for at least 24 hours - 7 days (The longer you avoid anything dark, the better your results & the longer the results will last)

  • Avoid all dark liquids: coffee, tea, red wine, juices, pop etc 24-48 hrs

  • Avoid all sauces: tomato sauce, bbq sauce, soya sauce, ketchup mustard etc for 24-48 hours

  • No smoking for 24 hours, vaping is okay

  • Avoid fruits/ vegetables with dye: strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, beets for 24-48 hours

  • If sensitivity occurs, take an Advil or Tylenol as directed

  • For extra help with sensitivity you can put one layer of sensodyne toothpaste on your teeth for 10 minutes then wipe off with lukewarm water

  • Avoid brushing for 45 minutes after the treatment and avoid mouthwash (coloured) for 24 hours

Algae peel - After Care Instructions
Zena Algae Peel: After Care

  • DAY 1: Do not wash your face for a minimum of 12 hours

  • DAY 2: AM & PM wash your face with water + apply ointment & SPF (AM)

  • DAY 3 & onward: AM & PM wash only apply SPF in AM. NO MOISTURIZER.

  • The more dry your skin is, the better the peel.

  • NO MAKE UP UNTIL THE END OF PEELING

  • CHANGE PILLOW CASE IMMEDIATELY AFTER YOUR SESSION

  • USE A GENTLE PH BALANCED CLEANSER

  • NO SUN FOR A MINIMUM OF 3 WEEKS - IF GOING OUT, WEAR A HAT THROUGHOUT THE PEELING PROCESS OF PEELING

  • WEAR SPF 30 -50 EVERYDAY

  • DO NOT SCRUB FOR AT LEAST 21 DAYS

  • DO NOT PEEL THE SKIN YOURSELF

  • NO HARD FRICTION ON THE AREA BEING PEELED

  • ALWAYS KEEP YOUR HANDS CLEAN WITH TOUCHING THE TREATED AREA
